Coming from the UK to Dubai, one of the highlights of an evening out are ‘ladies nights’. Many large establishments have a night or two where simply being female grants you free drinks! A night out can often be taxi fares only and range from sophisticated bars, glamorous clubs to grimy dance floors. Here are a few of my favourites..
This opulent establishment offers ladies nights most nights of the week including Friday which is virtually unheard of! Hence why it is one of my favourites.
The drinks are decent wine and spirits, and the quantities are generous and not watered down. You do however only get three or four tokens, but the drinks are pretty strong so they will keep you going!
The bar itself is very classy in appearance. The free drinks stop at midnight but be warned you won’t want to leave as this is when the party really gets started with live DJs and regular themed nights.
Dress to impress with heels, or you simply won’t get in or if you do you will feel out of place. There really is no such thing as too dressy or glamorous in Dubai!
Chilled out Tuesdays..
Another bar at the beautiful Taj Hotel is the Tesoro bar/restaurant on a Tuesday night. This is more of a low key ladies night, with soft music, in a restaurant setting. However the drinks are lovely- espresso martinis yum! This is something a little different and a great place to catch up with friends and have a conversation. So when you have work early the next day you are still going to make it!
As an extra bonus you get 50% of the food bill! And the food is really good. The views of the Burj from the terrace are amazing too! Overall a great chilled ladies night, plus if you want to party later on Billionaire Mansion is attached to the same hotel!!
Fun, cheesy nineties tunes and lots of dancing…
If you want a fun, more casual, unpretentious night filled with cheesey nineties music, and plenty of dancing then get yourself to Societe on a Tuesday or Saturday night! As long as you arrive before midnight you get free drinks until 1am!
This is one of the few clubs with a substantial sized dance floor, and it will be filled with guys and girls dancing their hearts out to tunes like the Macarena, Will Smith and Venga Boys! It will take you back to your school discos! A lot of fun though!!
The ultimate Dubai clubbing experience…
Now if you want an all out clubbing experience, another of my favourites is the open air nightclub of White Dubai. Set a little further out of Dubai at the Meydan Racecourse it offers views of the stunning Dubai skyline as you drink and dance.
Everything in the club is white- from the furniture to the staff outfits! You need to dress up to get in- ladies must wear heels or you won’t be allowed inside. Guys must come with girls or they won’t be allowed in unless they book a table.
Tuesday and Saturday is ladies night! On a Saturday it is ‘urban’ music, the club is packed and if you love hip hop and RnB you won’t be disappointed.
Ladies get free drinks from 11pm-2pm including the usual mixers, with decent portions of decent spirits aka the strongest gin and tonic with Bombay sapphire to set me on fire! On Tuesday’s on their ‘disturbing Dubai’ nights, as well as free drinks ladies also get free sushi!!
Ladies night with a view-
Another fab place to go for a few drinks, food and a dance is Q43 in Media One hotel.
Their ladies nights run from 6pm on a Tuesday and 8pm on a Saturday, and you get three free drinks (four if you order food) but the drinks especially the cocktails are interesting and of a great quality- think butterscotch caramel martini yum!
If you fancy food, for 99 dirhams ladies get a choice of three small dishes including choices such as calamari, tempura prawns, veggie pasta and sushi.
It’s usually quiet early evening and so is a great place for a chilled catch up. The dance floor starts to get busy around midnight/1am – like most places in Dubai, so it’s great to come for a few drinks and a chat and then unleash your moves on the dance floor after a chat with your friends!!
So there you have it- some of my favourite ladies nights in Dubai! Let me know what your favourites are!!!
