Like many of us I was super excited to go and see the new showing of Beauty and the Beast- the remake of a Disney classic last week.
After the film we decided to go for a meal in Dubai City Walk. I have posted about City walk before. There are so many pretty and cute cafes so making our choice wasn’t easy but Cocoa Kitchen drew us in.
The menu was not over whelming and had an array of interesting drinks, mains and desserts.
Reviews on trip advisor had been rather scathing of the staff, but we found them to be extremely polite and courteous but not over bearing.
For my drink of choice, I went for an after eight virgin mojito. This was very refreshing, but other than the chocolate sticks poking it of it, it was just a normal mojito. Tasty and pretty, but I had expected more of a mint chocolate twist in the taste not just in the appearance.
I was pleased to see there were quite a few vegetarian options on the menu. I went for the butternut squash cocoa ravioli for my main. It was certainly aesthetically pleasing, with interesting taste and textures.
The Parmesan crust was lovely, although for my taste there was maybe a little too much of it-its strong flavour overpowered the delicate butternut squash and ravioli. One of the crusts would have been preferable.. but that is just my personal taste. I still very much enjoyed the dish. And just look at that presentation!
For me the presentation of my food is very important, especially when eating out and I really appreciated the effort that went into plating up this beautiful dish! I almost didn’t want to eat it!
My companion selected a chocolate brownie which looked absolutely amazing, and she was very happy with her choice!
We rounded off our meal with a lovely coffee, of which there was a varied selection. Would I come back? Most definitely! I really fancy the trio of creme brûlées next time!
You can choose to sit inside, or outside and soak up the atmosphere at City Walk- I recommend giving it a try!! Let me know what you choose and be sure to take some pics!
